His whole body was humming, eyes squeezed shut and brain powering up and then down. His mouth seized and his teeth clenched, shaking all over. Suddenly his hazel eyes popped open and he stared up at what appeared to be trees, once his mind cleared a little and he could focus. He took in a gasping breath and wondered why it felt like he had been drowning. His fists clenched and he swallowed, taking in another ragged breath. Why did his body feel like it was on fire?

He sat up slowly and looked around in the forest, eyes straining in the dim daylight. Why was he here? He remembers... he remembers being at work and... everything else is blank after that. He swallows again, looking around, eyes finally clear and just to the side of him, somewhat a little far away was another figure. A woman, if the hair was any indication. What were they both doing here?

He stood up and walked over slowly, peering down into her face. He didn't know her. She wasn't from work, she wasn't a friend and she wasn't one of his mom's friends. Not that her youthful appearance would have anything to do with it, but she did look a tad bit too young. He opened his mouth, then closed it, remembering he didn't like talking outloud.

He patted himself down quickly, realizing he was wearing his coat and thankfully, there was a notepad and pen. He bent down, shaking the woman by the shoulder. It was really, really, really bothering him as to how he got here and he was uncomfortable. Scared, even.

The warmth of the sun against her face was the first thing to register in Kyra’s waking mind, filling it with confusion due to the fact that the college student remembered specifically having gone to sleep in bed. She had not gotten drunk or high, nor was she known to sleepwalk, so the fact that she could feel not the soft of the mattress beneath her but instead hard earth, small rocks and tree roots as she slowly drifted back to full consciousness. With a twitch of her nose and a grunted gasp, Kyra’s eyes would shoot open a moment or two later before going wide with panic upon seeing the still slightly blurred figure of the man standing above her.

“W-w-what h-happened?” Kyra stammers out, sounding half in a daze and wincing as odd pains flare up all over her body, feeling as if someone had stuck her with dozens of needles. Then with her mind seeming to register the stranger as a possible threat, Kyra pushes herself up into a sitting position before making efforts to scurry backwards and away in a spider crawl of sorts until her back was pressed against the thick trunk of a giant tree, and she could go no further.

“S-stay away from me!” She cries out in a panic, concerned that this man might have drugged her with sinister plans.

It was more than obvious she was alarmed, his hands quickly shot up in surrender and he shook his head fiercely. He exhaled, getting the feeling she wasn't going to want to read a piece of paper, which required getting close to him. He got it, you know? He was a big guy. He looked intimidating and it didn't help that he was in flannel, wearing some country bumpkin coat and had a five day beard. He didn't exactly look like the gentle giant that so many people that knew him claimed he was. And while it was true, it didn't help this situation.

He swallowed around the lump in his throat, forcing his mouth to speak. "I'm not...I'm not dangerous," he choked out in his odd, off tone voice. "I don't know what is going on either." He prayed it would be enough to appease her. He stood where he was and allowed her to stay where she was, at least until she felt she could trust him even a little. If she spoke, he wouldn't be able to hear her much, but he could read lips just fine.

Something was clearly beyond wrong here, going past the obvious with having awoken in the woods instead of bed, yet by the look on the face of her possible attacker it seemed to the nineteen year old that he seemed just as lost and confused by the entire situation as well. Between that and the words spoken in a strange sort of way from the man and denying any knowledge or involvement with whatever the hell it was that was going on here, Kyra decided to refrain on screaming out for help further than her initial yell. She didn’t want to get the man in trouble if he truly had done nothing, and really for all she knew he very well could have scared off whoever had brought her out here.

“W-who are you?” She asks, and slowly rises up to her feet after reaching up and gripping onto the bark of the tree with her fingers to pull herself up, wincing in obvious pain all the while.

It was only when Kyra was standing upright on her feet and her arms fell to her sides again that with a downward glance, she noticed that each arm bore a long row of needle marks running down the outside of both her arms.

“Oh, what the fuck?!” She cries out in dismay as her fingers frantically brush over the marks and find each of them tender, sore and healing still. One or two were even still bleeding a little and both panic and anger levels begin to rise within Kyra. “Someone used me as a goddamn pincushion! We need to find a cop… Oh god what if the needles were infected…”

The young redhead fell backwards to lean against the tree then, suddenly feeling sick and full of terror as hundreds of awful scenarios fill her head and she begins to hyperventilate.

He watches her like a hawk, not because he's a creepy stalker type, (at least to his knowledge), but because he needs to keep an eye on her lips. The question about who he is comes and he quickly replies. "Joshua King." His eyes trailed to where her eyes had gone, and he finally noticed the trek marks. Well, that wasn't good. He pulled off his coat quickly and checked his arms, indeed, there were markings on his as well and he understood what the young woman was going through. Oh man, what if... he didn't feel high or anything like that. Just like he was on fire.

He turned his eyes back on her. "Calm down. We need to find a cop or..," he trailed off. What would they even say to a cop? 'Hi. Our arms have trek marks, no, we're not drug addicts. We think someone adultnapped us.' Yeah, because that would go over well. "It's going to be okay. It's going to be okay." Though he wasn't sure rather he was reassuring her or himself. He was feeling pretty freaked out himself, and he had to wonder if his mother was home, safe and sound. Oh god, he needed to get home. Mom.

Kyra was silent for several moments following, making no noise past the rustling of dead leaves beneath her feet caused by the trembling of her body and shocked mind. Her gaze remained downward as she gave better examination to her arms and then fell further into her fear and panic as she discovered that it was not just her arms that were all marked to shit, but her legs and torso as well, and there was an odd bump on the back of her head, but that could have come from being dropped when whoever had left her here dumped Kyra’s body onto the ground.

But then the man speaks again to introduce himself as Joshua King, and halts Kyra’s further descent into the abyss of hysteria as his words about mirror her own rambling concerns. It was enough to jolt her back to some semblance of normalcy, and she shakes her head a couple times in attempt to clear it fully before the redhead was reaching down to pick a thick but short piece of broken branch up from the ground.

“Well clearly neither of us brought the other here, and I really don’t want to be around when whoever did comes back.” Kyra growls out, feeling beyond violated and still unsure if she should or even could trust the man before her. “Thankfully I recognize the area, we aren’t far from my apartment.. I’m going there and calling the police. You should come, get checked out too, just in case…and I'm K.C. by the way.” She adds at the end, not willing to share her proper name with this 'Joshua' guy just yet.

‘And to be captureable by the cops if you did do this to me.’ She adds in the privacy of her own head before pushing away from the tree and starting to stumble towards the building she could see off a bit in the distance.

Her mouth isn't visible, so he feels a little lost, which he hates but he can't expect the world to conform to his needs and he never does. When she does look his way, he getssome words from her and then finally she's introducing herself and telling him come with her. He should go home, but he's always been a gentleman and he can escort her back to her home incase someone wants to hurt her. He shrugs on his coat and checks his pockets for his phone, luckily it's there and he quickly shoots a text to his mom to ask her if she's alright. Then shoots another text to his manager at the shop to let them know he's fine, and that he'll be back soon. "Okay," he finally said to K.C, giving a small nervous smile. "Lead the way?"

Kyra gave little time for the man to make up his mind before she was moving on swift but cautious bared feet against the uneven dirt and various debris laying over the forest floor. She could hear the man’s spoken reply from behind her and gave a quick nod over her shoulder without really looking back in her haste to get back to the supposed safety of her apartment. Hopefully a look around the small home might give her some insight as to how in the hell she had ended up asleep outside and poked full of needles.

Before very long she was leading the way inside the building that housed her apartment, and continuing to move quick Kyra makes her way up to the second floor, and then marches up to her door before stopping to give the barrier a look of concern for a moment. Then moving much slower and hesitant, she reaches up to push open the recently broken door, finding more than a little alarm over the fact that the lock appeared to be melted.

Giving the man at her back a quick glance, the short red haired college student ducks inside and grabs her baseball bat up from where it was hidden inside the closet before moving further inside to get to her phone, and an unhappy look passes over her face at the mess that had been made of her place with burn marks and overturned furniture laying about.

“I think it's a safe bet to say I didn't go willingly..” She mumbles out with a tone full of intense confusion, and looks over her shoulder to the man as she reaches the phone and picks it up. "You don't remember anything at all either?"

He tries to keep up with her, hoping she's not saying anything in the process. Thankfully, his long legs carry him quickly up the long flight of stairs and he stays behind, outside the door, looking in. He wonders if the shop is broken like this because it would be a blow to business. There's one too many expensive things he has that would be hard to repair. When she looks over her shoulder, he tries to read her lips but can't, it completely makes him feel lost and he let's out a little sigh of frustation. He doesn't want coddled, not at all but he knows he has to say something. "Miss K.C. I'm deaf," he speaks as loud and clear as he can.

Kyra’s fingers moved to start dialing up for 911, but then she found herself brought to a pause as the man’s words register and she gives him a quick glance and nods in understanding.

“Oh, okay..” She replies, not entirely certain how to proceed with further attempts to communicate with Josh as she had never really had to deal with the disability he was claiming to be afflicted with. There was one student back at her high school that had shared the same problem, but as that girl had been a senior during her freshman year, they had never really spoken and even passing interaction was minor at best. It did make her feel a bit more assured of the man however, as, at least to Kyra’s mind the fact that he would be unable to have heard her screams should she have awoken during whatever it was that had been done to her before waking in the woods.

She moves closer again with the phone in her hand, and for a moment Kyra just stared in silence as she tried to figure out how to proceed.

“I uh, I’m gonna call the police now to have them come out and have a look about, in case whoever did this left anything behind that can help find them… I don’t know if you can understand me, but I can write it down if you don’t…”

He could see that this was going to be awkward but he was glad he found a chance to tell her. "I can read lips, but it'll be easier if I just write to you," he answered, reaching in his pocket and taking out a notepad. He had it ready just incase, he knew being stared at could get annoying after awhile and he wouldn't blame her for getting irritated by it. He quickly wrote on the notepad at her last words. 'Okay. I'll try and help as much as I can but I don't remember anything. I'm in the same situation as you.'

He also still ached and burned, whatever had been done to him more than likely hadn't been pleasant. Suddenly he felt his cell vibrate and he unlocked his phone to see a text. Seems the shop was got kinda messed up in the process too. He hoped he could fix things and that chaise that they got hadn't been too damaged. It was beautiful. He sent back a quick text and wrote down again. 'How do you feel right now? I'm aching and burning. I can't explain it right though. It's difficult to fully describe.'
